JRC activities for a safe and secure nuclear in Europe

The JRC Side event of the first ever Nuclear Energy Summit celebrated the "JRC activities for a safe and secure nuclear in Europe": an official closing event of the 60 Years JRC Nuclear Safety and Security celebrations. This event had the mission to highlight the role of the JRC in nuclear science and technology, emphasising the need for strong support for nuclear research and highlighting the essential know-how and competences maintained throughout Europe via the JRC. Dr. Claudia Gasparrini was invited as an individual expert and was able to discuss her research vision and aspirations in front of a panel of esteemed world leaders and politicians. Amongst the panellists, the IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and the Director for Nuclear Safety and Security, Joint Research Centre Ulla Engelmann.
